Celebrating Healing Through Art

May 2025

Late American painter Georgia O’Keeffe once said, “To create one’s own world takes courage.” We’re proud of our members who were courageous enough to participate in our second annual art show in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month.

This year’s pieces highlighted personal stories of how participants turned their mental health journey into a positive experience. From paintings and drawings to t-shirts and bookmarks, all items were created by our talented Envision Unlimited members, neighbors and friends. Many participants were excited to tell guests about their art, and some sold pieces for the first time, a notable milestone for our members.

“This art show was a powerful reminder that healing can be beautiful,” said Michelle Flores, Director of Mental Health and Clinical Services, and Gargi Bandyopadhyay, Psychosocial Rehabilitation Therapist. “Events like this not only provide a healing outlet for participants but also help reduce stigma around mental health by bringing the community together in a space of empathy and understanding.”
