‘Colorful Memoirs’ Makes Lasting Impact

Our member Andre stepped up to be a team leader for our 2024 Summer of Cycling, a series of events empowering our members to be more mobile, independent and out in their communities. He set out to raise $1,250, so we could purchase a new tandem bicycle for our Adaptive Cycling program.

Up for the challenge, Andre released his first book, “Colorful Memoirs: A Journey Through Andre’s Life,” and decided to donate all proceeds to our cycling efforts. He has already sold more than 100 copies and has even autographed a few for local news anchors and radio hosts who interviewed him.

Co-published with Envision Unlimited residential house manager Treena Glover, the adult coloring book provides readers with creative snapshots of significant moments in Andre’s life, from playing childhood games with his sister to his graduation from Schurz High School. He courageously shares his story with others, inspiring them to seek solace and strength in their own journey.
