Honoring Our Exceptional Team

Our members and staff consistently go above and beyond, and we were proud to watch some of them receive well-deserved recognition at disability advocacy organization The Arc of Illinois’ 75th annual convention. Envision Unlimited took home five awards, four of which honored our QIDPs, Direct Support Professionals and volunteers. All were recognized for their outstanding commitment.

Additionally, member Marcus was honored with the Self-Advocacy Award for his volunteer work at the Humboldt Park Library, where he reads to children during story time and teaches after school programs with bicycle shop Working Bikes. He understands that when children are taught by someone with a disability, it will forever change their perspective about the disability community.

“I know how to make my own choices, and I decide my own schedule every day,” Marcus said during his acceptance speech. “I feel very happy and excited to be here at this presentation.”
