Meet Our Vice President of Community Living & Transition Services
April 2025
We’d like to extend a warm welcome to Mike Jersey, our vice president of community living and transition services. He brings nearly 20 years of experience to his new role, in which he’s tasked with developing, implementing and managing programs that will support people transitioning from SODCs to 24-hour community living arrangements.
Jersey previously served as the clinical director of the support services team, a group contracted by the Illinois Department of Human Services to provide support for people who engage in challenging behavior. His team focused on decreasing the frequency and severity of the challenges to improve the quality of life for these individuals.
Through this work, he interacted with Envision Unlimited on many occasions and even served as a collaborator when we developed our short-term stabilization homes. All of these factors drove him to his current position when it became available.

“I genuinely care about what happens to people,” Jersey said. “I get up each day so that I can make sure they’re cared for and are doing well.”
He hopes that his transition work will help Envision Unlimited members gain greater independence and find meaningful activities in the community. And for his team members, he wants to create an environment where they will feel inspired and empowered to learn and grow.
“In many ways, Envision Unlimited is ahead of the curve,” Jersey said. “I do not know of any provider that is transitioning individuals out of SODCs at the same scale. It’s an amazing thing, and I’m so happy to be part of it.”
